FourFourtwo: Kelly’s mother sends him home article A mother who sent her daughter home to live with her parents has been fined £20,000 for her role in the death of her son, the BBC has reported.
The case is the first time that a mother has been found guilty of manslaughter in the UK over the death.
Kelly, 23, died in December 2016, after being shot twice in the head with a machine gun.
The inquest was told that the teenager, who had a learning disability, had suffered a seizure after being hit with a pair of metal knobs, which caused him to lose consciousness.
Kelly had been taken to hospital and later pronounced dead at the scene.
His parents were charged with murder and manslaughter.
FourFourtwo understands the hearing is being heard in a private capacity.
